We were all soon arrested by the police and taken to Matunga East Police Station, though left after 3 hours on a Personal Bond. Senior juornalist Jyoti Punwani, Adv Monica Sakhrani, Adv Mahrukh Adenwala, Adv Susan Abraham lead the protests, along with many students from various colleges.

In a demonstration organized by the CPDR-Committee for the Protection of Democratic Rights, various leading voices gathered to appeal to the collective conscience of our nation. Clearly as per Senior RAW functionary B Raman, Yuaqb Memon had surrendered in good faith of certain assurances and guarantees for him and his family, a promise which now has been broken. This will itself cause immense harm to the National Security apparatus of our country, as no prospective informer in the future will risk returning, surrendering and providing information and evidence, as the RAW will not be in any position to regain its lost credibility. This is the reason as to why many sane voices from within the RAW itself, as well as ex-Judges of the Supreme Court, as well as leading national figures have spoken for the need for clemency and mercy.
